By registering to use, using, and/or accessing and/or providing information on the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District Agent Portal (the “Portal”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.To register to use the Portal, an individual must: be registered as a Senior Property Tax Consultant pursuant to Texas Occupations Code §1152.157; be an individual licensed to practice law in the State of Texas; or be a certified public accountant under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 901.To use the Portal, an individual must be registered to use the Portal or reported on the Portal as an Associated Agent by a person registered to use the Portal. In addition to being reported on the Portal by a person registered on the Portal, an Associated Agent must be an individual holding a certificate of registration issued pursuant to Texas Occupations Code §1152.151 and be associated with a Senior Property Tax Consultant, an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, or a certified public accountant under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 901, pursuant to the requirements of the Texas Occupations Code §1152.152.An individual registered to use the Portal shall be assigned an Account. An individual registered to use the Portal, or an Associated Agent of an individual registered to use the Portal (hereinafter, individually or collectively, referred to as “User”) is responsible for maintaining and updating the information on the User’s Portal Account. Each User agrees the Chief Appraiser and employees of the Chief Appraiser of the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District (hereinafter “FBCAD”) may rely on the information on the User’s Portal Account.User agrees that a decision or determination made by User on the Portal will have the same effect as a decision or determination made in person or through any other medium of communication, including but not limited to email, telephone, videoconference or other written correspondence.User acknowledges that use of the Portal does not affect any statutory requirements under the Texas Property Tax Code including but not limited to statutory deadlines or time constraints. Use of the Portal is intended to compliment, or be a component of, statutorily required electronic communications.User acknowledges that any confidential information, including confidential sales related information, shall remain confidential in the hands of a recipient of the information to the extent required or allowed by the laws of the State of Texas.User agrees to abide by any other terms of use as may be required from time to time by FBCAD’s vendor providing the Portal services to FBCAD.User will not post or otherwise disseminate on the Portal any material that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law. User agrees to indemnify and hold FBCAD harmless from and against any civil or criminal actions arising out of User’s use of the Portal.
